I was asked to write a commentary for the latest issue of Spheres: Journal for Digital Cultures. The journal is open access, and this issue is dedicated to the theme of international migration and the role of digital technologies in border crossings and border regimes. And it brings an original combination of activist and artistic perspectives to the academic study of this highly current topic. The other commentaries in the issue include pieces by inspiring scholars like Sandro Mezzadra and Maribel Casas-Cortes, so I’m very pleased that my commentary on Morteza Jafari’s documentary film, Dreaming of Life, is in such good company. Spoiler alert: I liked the film!
